FIRE DEPARTMENT
The Hubbard Volunteer Fire Department provides fire safety services to both the City of Hubbard and Hubbard Townshipan area covering nearly 25 square miles. Chief John J. Clemente, along with an assistant chief, a captain, and two lieutenants, direct the efforts of 25 well-qualified firefighters.
The Fire Station, located behind the City of Hubbard Police Department near the center of the City, houses 10 pieces of safety and fire fighting equipmentincluding four Class A Pumper/Tankers, one light rescue unit, one hazardous material response unit, three grass fire units, and one mobile command unit.
The Fire Department contributes far more than just fire fighting services to the Hubbard community. The Chief and firefighters work extensively with elementary and pre-school children in an effort to promote their awareness of fire safety issues. Also, the Fire Department is a visible participant in many community functions, such as parades.
The Department is funded 50% by each the City of Hubbard and Hubbard Township through a combination of Fire levy funds and other unrestricted contributions made from each governmental entity.

All of the firefighters are volunteersand the response time of the Hubbard Volunteer Fire Department rivals some of the area's full-time Fire Departments. In a calendar year, an average of 190 emergency calls are serviced by the Hubbard Volunteer Fire Department, and an additional 40 non-emergency service callsmany of which are carbon monoxide alarms and open burning complaints.
The Hubbard Volunteer Fire Department unrelentingly pursues its goal of promoting fire awareness and fire safety, as well as keeping the community safe from danger.
