HUBBARD MAYOR'S COURT

The Hubbard Mayor's Court was founded in the early 1970's. Since its inception and with the introduction of every new mayor, the Hubbard Mayor's Court has evolved continually.

Presently, in the State of Ohio there are approximately 428 active Mayor's Courts. The concept of Mayor's Court is to mitigate the burden of Municipal Courts hearing minor misdemeanor cases. The City of Hubbard Mayor's Court hears first offense DUI cases, misdemeanor criminal cases, and traffic and parking violation cases. Any contested cases are immediately transferred to the neighboring Municipal Court: Girard Municipal Court.

Mayor's Court is currently held four times a month, hearing nearly 1,250 cases per year. Our mayor is required to attend six hours of Mayor's Court Education classes sponsored by the Ohio Municipal League in order to preside over Mayor's Court. Any questions, comments, or concerns regarding Mayor's Court should be directed to the Mayor's Office, Lorrie L. Brown, Clerk.
